Check the power plan
Read PoE budget and switch planning before ordering. Its worksheet separates compatible powered ports from the switch's shared wattage limit. Replace estimated loads with each device's documented maximum, including planned cameras and other powered equipment.
Connect the plan to the network
The UniFi home network setup guide explains controller, gateway, switch and access-point roles. If an installed device will not join its host, work through UniFi adoption failures for power, management-VLAN and connectivity checks.
